Shooting Guard Antoine Mason Returns to the Halifax Hurricanes

Halifax, N.S. - The Halifax Hurricanes have re-signed scoring guard Antoine Mason for the 2019/20 NBL Canada season. Mason played two seasons with the Hurricanes from 2016 to 2018, helping lead them to the league finals both years.

In 104 games with the Hurricanes Mason averaged 20 points per game and in the 2017/18 season he finished second overall in the league for total points scored.

The 27-year-old Mason, who hails from Queens, NY, graduated from Auburn University in 2015. He is the son of the late Anthony Mason, a legendary figure in the New York hoops scene who played 13 years in the NBA.

"The Hurricanes are very excited to welcome Antoine back to Halifax for the upcoming season," says Coach Mike Leslie. "Antoine is a pure scoring guard who can contribute in so many different ways. He is a big game player who thrives under pressure and is never afraid of the larger stage he is playing on. He works extremely hard to improve his game throughout the season, leads by example and is a truly great person. While in his first season in Halifax he completed his MBA, which speaks so positively to his overall approach to life and basketball. I'm very pleased to have the opportunity to work with such a quality player and person."

Halifax Hurricanes season tickets are available through contacting info@halifaxhurricanes.ca and single game tickets through Ticket Atlantic. The Hurricanes home opener is at Scotiabank Centre on Sunday, December 29 at 2:00 pm against the St. John's Edge.
