WINDSOR, ON — The Halifax Hurricanes faced their second blowout loss of the week on Wednesday night, this time against the Windsor Express by 147 to124 on the first of three-game trip to Ontario.
After a competitive first quarter, where the Hurricanes caught a couple of early leads, things fell apart in the second as they were outscored 36-25 by the Express in the final 12 minutes before halftime.
The Express shot the lights out on their home court, hitting 53.6 per cent from the floor and an unstoppable 57.6 per cent from the three, hitting 19 of 33 in the contest.
By contrast, the Hurricanes shot just 29.6 per cent from the three-point line.
The Express were led by two players with more than 30 points on the night: Chris Jones with 38 and Ryan Anderson with 35, including 11 made from three.
The Hurricanes will look to put that loss behind them and regroup on Thursday in London ON, when they face the defending National Basketball League of Canada champs, the Lightning.
That game is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. AST and will be live streamed on www.NBLCLive.ca.
The Hurricanes will return to Scotiabank Centre in Halifax for March break for three games.
On Monday, Mar. 18, they face the Island Storm in a rescheduled game. Fans that had previously purchased individual tickets for the postponed game on Mar. 4 can use their ticket for admission to Mar. 18 or can go to the Ticket Atlantic Box Office at Scotiabank Centre for a full refund or exchange up until Friday, Mar. 15 at 5 p.m. Season Ticket Holders can use their Mar. 4 tickets for admission to the rescheduled game on Monday. March 18.
