Hurricanes fall to Riptide at home

HALIFAX, N.S. — The Halifax Hurricanes fall in the second showing of their double-header weekend to the Saint John Riptide, 87-73.

The Saint John squad was just too much for the Hurricanes through four quarters of play. Halifax kept it close through the first three quarters, but just lost steam in the final 12 minutes of play.

Terry Thomas led the Hurricanes with 17 points, while Mike Poole added 15 of his own.

Chadrack Lufile had a big night down low with 11 rebounds for the Hurricanes.

TJ Maston and Frank Bartley went off for Saint John, scoring 35 and 24 points respectively. Maston also added 14 rebounds to his game stats for the night for the Riptide.

The Hurricanes stand at an 11-11 record for the season now.

The Hurricanes head out on the road to Newfoundland next week for a couple of games against the St. John's Edge. Games are Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30 p.m. AST – you can tune in to NBLCLive.ca to catch both of those games.

Halifax returns home to Scotiabank Centre next Saturday, February 2 at 7:00 p.m. to take on defending league champions, and rival, the London Lightning.

Tickets for the game are available at the Ticket Atlantic Box Office or online at TicketAtlantic.com.
