Halifax steamrolls Windsor at home

HALIFAX, N.S. — The Halifax Hurricanes started and finished off strong against a hot Windsor Express team Friday night at Scotiabank Centre.

The Hurricanes had a very strong start, but the Express fought back by the end of the first quarter to cut the lead to 33-28. Halifax found their groove once again in the second half, taking command of the game from there on out.

Mike Poole led the Hurricanes once again with 27 points along with six rebounds.

Jordan Washington, Joel Kindred, and Terry Thomas tacked on 19, 18, and 17 points respectively, while Washington added a very impressive 17 rebounds to his stats on the night. 

The big men down low had a solid evening as well, Chadrack Lufile scored 10 points and had 13 rebounds, while Rhamel Brown had 15 points and 10 rebounds. 

The Hurricanes put on a solid team effort once again, with six Hurricanes scoring in double-figures on Friday night.

For the Windsor Express, Chris Jones scored 16 points and Juan Pattillo provided 9 rebounds for the visiting team.

The Hurricanes improve to an 11-10 record.

The Hurricanes are back in action for their double-header weekend tomorrow night, hosting the Saint John Riptide at 7 p.m. at Scotiabank Centre. Tickets for the game are available at the Ticket Atlantic Box Office or online.
