Hurricanes sign NBLC powerhouse, Gabe Freeman

The Halifax Hurricanes are pleased to announce the addition of NBL Canada powerhouse, Gabe Freeman, to their roster.

"Gabe is a proven veteran in our league. He'll provide solid scoring, rebounding and will help anchor our defense," says Head Coach Mike Leslie. "We're really pleased to have the opportunity to have Gabe in Halifax as he will bring veteran experience and leadership to our Hurricanes team."

Freeman, former NBLC MVP and Finals Champion, signs with the Hurricanes after being released from the St. John's Edge.  For the past three seasons he has played with the Saint John Riptide (formerly the Saint John Mill Rats) where he averaged 20.48 points, 9.33 rebounds, 3.10 assists and 34 minutes last season.

Gabe is a proven champion in the NBLC, leading the London Lightning to a league championship in 2012 during the NBLC's inaugural season, while receiving both Regular Season and Playoff MVP honours that year.

Catch Freeman's debut as a Hurricane this Thursday, November 22 at 7pm at Scotiabank Centre against his former team, the Saint John Riptide. Tickets are available online at TicketAtlantic.com or in person at the Ticket Atlantic Box Office.
