The Halifax Hurricanes held their first media day in their five-season history on Monday at the Zatzman Sportsplex. Members of the media, partners, and fans were invited to watch the players in training camp and then welcomed to join the coaching staff and team afterwards as they discussed the upcoming season and their home opener on Sunday, December 29 at 2 p.m.
Coach Mike Leslie boasted about the unique and diverse group of players they brought in to try out for the Hurricanes. The players grinding for spots include five Canadians, three of which are local to Nova Scotia and one from New Brunswick, five returning players over the last two seasons, and even a player from Japan. A lot of big game talent.
One of the bigger announcements of the day was the Hurricanes Blue vs White Intrasquad Game this Thursday taking place at the Zatzman Sportsplex at 6:30 p.m.
The intrasquad game will provide fans with the opportunity to see the players trying to make the cut in a real game scenario. The game will also allow the coaches to put the players to the test to see who can dig in, grind, and come out on top in intense game time situations.
The Media Day and the Blue vs White Intrasquad Game marks the start of a new partnership with the Hurricanes and the Zatzman Sportsplex. The recently reopened Sportsplex is the new training facility for the Hurricanes and both parties are excited for the 2019/20 season and to build up what has already started to be a strong partnership.
The Hurricanes Blue vs White Intrasquad Game takes place this Thursday, December 12th. Only 200 seats are available for the game and tickets are $10 at the door on game day only, starting at 5:30 pm. General admission seating only and doors open at 6:30 pm.
Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to see your Halifax Hurricanes at the Zatzman Sportsplex!
