Halifax, (NS) – The Halifax Hurricanes, defending 2017 NBLC Atlantic Conference Champions, have re-signed power forward Tyrone Watson.
Watson, a 6’6”, 225 lbs. big man from Hamilton, Ontario returns for his second season with the Halifax Hurricanes. A dominant force on bot ends of the court, Tyrone average 12 points and 6 rebounds per game and was second on the team in total assists.
Defensively, Tyrone helped lead the Hurricanes to a league best scoring defense and was often called upon to guard the opposition’s best scorer. As a result, he was named to the NBL Canada All Defensive Team, as well as the Second All NBL Canada Team.
Signing Watson to return for the 2017-18 season completes the third piece of the “Big Three” front court for the Hurricanes, which includes recent signees Billy White and CJ Washington.
The National Basketball League of Canada’s 2017-18 regular season will begin November 18, 2017. Details regarding the Hurricanes Season Tickets and the league schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
